Overview of structured packing
RVT Process Equipment GmbH provides a broad range of innovative and conventional packings in both metallic and thermoplastic materials for several applications.
The classic application fields for structured metal packings are processes with following operation conditions:
- Low liquid loads
- High gas loads
- Requirement for low pressure drop
These conditions are common in many vacuum distillation and rectification processes as well as in amine scrubbers, C3- and C4-spliiters and applications in the field of fine chemicals. The RVT Metal Packing is available in several designs:
- Smooth or textured surface
- Perforated or imperforated surface
- X- or Y-design with 45° or 60° corrugation angles
- Materials: carbon steel, stainless steel, others on request
Hiflow® PLUS combines the advantages of random and conventional structured packings. The basis of the development was the plastic Hiflow® ring which guarantees high mass transfer efficiency at low pressure drop. Further characteristics are an improved cross flow compared to conventional structured packings, no necessity of wall wipers, the possibility of installation in lying columns on the column manufacturers site and the improved resistance against fouling.
For applications with particular operating conditions RVT Process Equipment GmbH offers structured packings made of high quality plastics such as PVDF and PTFE.
